New Pattern Release: The Caladium Jumpsuit
I have been waiting for this moment for what seems like forever. I have been following Caramiya on instagram for almost as long as I’ve had my account. About 2 years. She’s probably the most talented sewist I know. Her makes are incredible and not to mention she has the most amazing soul. She has helped me multiple times on projects and has always heard me out when I’m in a jam. That kindness just doesn’t come around often and especially in the wild world of Instagram.
So of course I jumped (no pun intended) at the opportunity to test her jumpsuit pattern when she asked the community. Don’t worry I’ll be writing another blog post explaining all about the pattern testing world, but for this post I want to focus on possibly one of the most fun and friendly testing groups I was able to be a part of and at the helm was dearest Caramiya.
Let’s start with the pattern. It’s super simple in design, but it’s oh so perfect. It has no fastenings and it’s reversible! You heard me right, completely reversible. Square neckline on one side and deep v on the other. It also has POCKETS! Isn’t it already ticking all the boxes?
For my tester I decided on the size 20-22 due to my bust after doing a toile and I also lengthened my torso by 2” cos this mama got a bootay! I used two quilting cottons I had in my stash from Harmony Provo to create a two tone look. Caramiya was so hands on, the most I’ve seen in any testing situation. She listened to us all and worked through the pattern and kept us all updated. I’ve toiled the final pattern and it’s perfect! She handled it with such ease even if being on the computer this much wasn’t her cup of tea.
I cannot recommend this pattern enough. Maybe the fact that I’ve worn it 1 week straight will show you how much I love it. I am literally sitting here wearing it. It probably needs a wash now if I’m being honest. For my next one I will most likely go down a size. The sizing hinges on your hips but what we found, during the testing, that your hips could be slightly smaller that the finished measurements and you could still put it on no issues.
I cannot wait to make many of the Caladium Jumpsuit. It’s a wardrobe staple for sure. I even went to Target the other day and the sweet cashier girl told me she loved my outfit. If a random stranger compliments your outfit you know you’re onto a winner. Be sure to check out the pattern over at https://caramiya.myshopify.com/collections/sewing-patterns .
