My First Minerva Make Meets M7948

In my first post for the Minerva Blog I show how I took fan favourite McCall's 7948 pattern, hacked the bodice into an on-trend raglan puff sleeve and teamed it up with gorgeous heavy weight cotton gifted by Minerva.

Have you ever been scrolling through Instagram and just fallen in love with a fabric that someone else has made into something beautiful? So you search tirelessly to find that fabric only to discover it will cost an arm and a leg to get it, and your husband "convinces" you to not buy it since your fabric stash is already busting at the seams of the giant luggage holding them in your storage unit? Yeah, of course not, me neither. Just kidding, this is totally me. And now you know way too much about me!

That situation may or may not have been me 5 months ago. So, I let that dream slide and moved onto the next project. That was until the same fabric I had been lusting over was available and gifted to me by Minerva. It was a different background colourway, and it was even more beautiful than the one I initially saw on Instagram *Dreams really do come true children* Needless to say, I was beside myself when it arrived! I have pictures to support this, refer to below:

The gorgeous fabric I was gifted is the Woven Ikat Squares Cotton Dress Fabric in the black multi colourway. The cream colourway is the one I initially saw on Instagram but as soon as I saw it in black it was a done deal. It just makes all those colours pop! You can see it here.

If you want to hear more about my pattern hack and the overall process of making this beauty, it will be on the Minerva blog soon. I'll be sure to link it once it's up and then you can let me know how you think my first Minerva post went. I hope it makes you as happy as it made me.
