A Warp and Weft Davenport Dress

Another day, another Davenport. If I’m not careful I’m just going to have an entire wardrobe dedicated to this pattern. It’s just that good. Even though I wrote about all the details in a previous post I went ahead and made the modifications I was talking about in this one here. So I thought I’d share.

For this particular Davenport I still made the size XL but made the following adjustments:

-Shorten the bodice by 2”

-Added 0.5” to the elastic length at the wrist

-Shortened the sleeve by 6”

I absolutely love the changes I made and feel like that was the last piece of the puzzle to really making this pattern for me. I also made it in this gorgeous stripe (called Jubilee in Sprinkles) from the Warp and Weft collection from Alexia Marcelle Abegg. I had been hoarding this fabric from last year but regretted not buying more of it. So when it came back into stock at Harmony Provo I bought 1.5 yards more to make this incredible dress. I played around with the direction of the stripes to really make it pop.

Overall I love this dress and really felt like I made something that was so me. I know I say that a lot but this was definitely a dress that I had envisioned for over a year. I just needed to wait for the perfect pattern to come along! Check it out if you haven’t already.
