A Dashwood Paquerette

Today I’ll be showing you all my new favourite top. Every now and then a print comes around that I completely fall in love with. This Dashwood Studio Cotton Poplin was one of those fabrics. The vibrant green background with the pink tigers is just as bright in person as it is on the screen. It’s cotton, so the breathability is incredible. It’s light and flowy but still holds good shape. The accents of the various greens in the foliage makes the print just come to life. Taking in all the incredible features of the pattern I knew I had to pick the perfect pattern.

I went back and forth so many times with what pattern to use. I wanted it to be a statement piece but not to overpower the actual print. I thought maybe a dress, maybe a skirt but nothing really seemed right. Then it hit me. When I was looking through my patterns I found the Lysimaque Paquerette pattern. Now I’ve made this pattern many times as a dress hack but never actually made the top! I saw it and my gut just told me this was the right pattern!

The Paquerette pattern is wonderfully feminine while still being very modern. The perfect combination for this amazing dashwood print. It has two ruffles on the shoulders and cute ties around the sleeve hem. It flares out just the right amount to pair perfectly with any pants. The combination of the pattern and fabric has resulted in my favourite go to top. Oh and the neckline, how can we forget the neckline. The square neckline just brings it all together. This top is definitely going to be well work once we’re out of this pandemic. I can see myself grabbing it for date night or wearing it casually with jeans while out with the kids. The perfection combination resulting in the perfect item of clothing!
