Fibremood Trix: Mini Version

Hey, beautiful people! I'm here to share my latest obsession with you - the Trix dress from Fibremood's newest magazine. As a Fibremood ambassador, I got a sneak peek of the patterns, and let me tell you, they are stunning. When I saw the Trix, I knew I had to make it.

This dress is an absolute dream with its tiered design, and it comes in four different lengths: a top, a mini, a midi, and a maxi. I was eyeing the midi version, but given that the Trix requires a lot of fabric, I decided to go for the mini length.

Now, let me tell you something that wasn't mentioned in the instructions but is super helpful. There are lining pattern pieces for this dress, and I used a habotai silk for those pieces. Looking back, I should have used a similar fabric to my main one, as the habotai silk is very light. But, since I used it, I managed to save on fabric and avoid meeting the stated fabric requirements. So, if you're planning to make the Trix, know that you have the option to use a different fabric for your lining pieces. However, I would suggest using the same fabric as your main one for the bodice lining since it tends to roll a bit. And if you really want to save on fabric you can also cut the inner sleeve in a lining fabric.

Overall, the Trix was such a fun sew. I had never made sleeves in this method before, where there's an outer and inner sleeve, but I loved the result. However, I made a mistake with the elastic on the sleeve. I cut it smaller than recommended, thinking it felt loose, but it was a bad idea, and now the sleeves go right up to my armpit. I learned my lesson and will only shave an inch off next time.

The best part is that I made my Trix dress with the perfect fabric combination of liberty of london fabric, and it looks amazing. I'm already planning my next versions of the Trix dress - it's truly a showstopper!

Hope you like it!
